Ten species of honeyeater and three species of thornbill, present in New England National Park, were examined for ticks. Approximately 5% ol the 1 229 birds inspected had ticks present on their heads. The breeding.ot Black Swans Cygnus atratus on Llangothlin Lagoon Game Reserve and Little Llangothlin Nature Reserve both during and after the drought is reported. Breeding success rates ranged up to 47% during the drought and 69% afterwards.  A possible link between low breeding activity, hunting pressures and  and legal status of the lagoons is discussed.
