Australian Bird Study Association inc. (ABSA)

ABSA aims to support, encourage and promote the study of Australian birds and to contribute to their conservation.

The 2020 AGM was originally scheduled, and members were advised that it would be held on 21 March 2020 at the CCC Conference Centre, Yarramundie, NSW in conjunction with the ABSA(s) annual ornithological conference.  As a result of the government imposed COVID-19 isolation requirements the scheduled conference and AGM were cancelled, but in order to meet the Association’s statutory responsibilities, it was decided to conduct the AGM by inviting all financial members to participate in a virtual AGM. Email messages were subsequently forwarded to financial members inviting them to participate in the virtual AGM which would conclude on Thursday 9 April 2020. The message contained an agenda, reports from all office bearers, audit reports, nominations for 2020/21 Committee of Management positions and two general business motions which had been notified to the Secretary, in accordance of the Constitution, prior to the originally scheduled AGM.

The virtual AGM opened at 12 noon on 2 April 2020 and will close at noon on 9 April 2020.
