Corella

Corella is a fully-refereed journal of Australasian ornithological research.

Research papers submitted to the Association for publication in Corella are published online as soon as the review and editorial processes are complete. A similar procedure applies to material that is not formally reviewed, such as book reviews, obituaries and banding recovery summaries. Online published volumes of Corella are available to members only for a period of one year. ABSA members will be alerted to each online publication by email.

A hard-copy compilation of each volume is published in December each year and posted to each member. After one year, each volume is moved to the public area of the website, where all previous issues of Corella, and its predecessor, The Australian Bird Bander, are available.

Members must log on and then access the current issues of Corella through the ‘Publications’ section of the main menu.

Articles include:

  • Research findings communicated as major papers or short articles,
  • A round-up of interesting and unusual recoveries of banded birds,
  • Comprehensive review of breeding islands in the Seabird Island series of papers,
  • Technical papers
  • and much more…

As amateur authors are encouraged to publish in Corella, the ‘Advice to Authors‘ page has information for authors on how to prepare & submit scientific papers and short communications for publication in Corella.
