Black Swans Cygnus atratus were studied in south-eastern Queensland during 2007–2008. Birds were recorded
breeding throughout the year with some pairs breeding twice, three or even four times in the same year, often having two
generations of cygnets on the water at the same time. Productivity in the fi rst two years of the study was low compared
to that published for northern Queensland and New South Wales.
