The diet of the Mlstletoebird

south-eastern Queensland, by examination of material voided by 92 birds over a three-year
period. Between late December and June, the basic food of the few b1rds present
in the area is fruit of the Viscaceous mistletoe
Notothlxos subaureus. M1stletoeb1rds
congregate in the area between July and November to feed on the fruits of the Loranthaceous
mistletoe
Amyema cambagei. Epicarps of neither fruit are eaten. Material
