Assessment by routine morphometric analysis found no geographic variation in the Regent Honey-eater Xanthomyza phrygia
but distinguished significant sexual dimorphism in size, intensity of plumage colour and extent of warty skin on the face. Seasonal distribution of records indicates that coastal south-eastern Australia forms part of the core breeding range of the species.
